Classes Head stand

I want to explain briefly how I guide my class. I use many different asanas for purification and to realign our body. Then one can feel subtle energy throughout the body and the mind becomes relaxed as well. Then naturally our mind becomes calm and quiet and we begin to feel ourselves from a different perspective. It is then that our real journey begins.

I think every experience in life; meditation, yoga, traveling, whatever we do, shows some lesson that we have to go through. That is your job. But I can help you before you start your inner journey. I can help you to become very strong and wise. Then, whatever happens in your life, you can get through it. We are all working on ourselves. Isn't that true? And I am so excited to see what the next destination is. So, will you join with me?

Yoon

Yoon's Vinyasa

Yoon's unique method of teaching is similar to power Vinyasa but with an emphasis on awareness. Class usually starts with a flow of energizing movement of body and breath which leads up to some classical Hatha Yoga. Besides the emphasis on strength and flexibility students are reminded to keep their focus on the breath and feel the body as it moves from one posture to the next which is key for developing presence of mind from moment to moment.

 Hatha Yoga

Hatha means sun-moon in sanskrit, the ancient language of yoga. Hatha yoga is intended to create balance in the body. This class fosters a balanced, rejuvenative state by linking the breath and body through a sequence of flowing postures followed by sequences where postures are held longer. These classes are appropriate for students of all levels, as special attention is paid to alignment throughout the practice. Hatha yoga classes also include pranayama (breathing exercises).

YIN YOGA:

It is a more meditative approach with a physical focus much deeper than Yang like practices. Here the practitioner is trying to access the deeper tissues such as the connective tissue and fascia and many of the postures focus on areas that encompass a joint (hips, sacrum, spine). As one ages flexibility in the joints decreases and Yin yoga is a wonderful way to maintain that flexibility, something that for many don’t seem to be too concerned about until they notice it is gone.

Gentle Vinyasa flow:

Incorporates asana into a slow, meditative, calm practice. Perfect for beginners or advanced students to welcome soft openings and mind-body awareness

  2. Arrive 10-15 minutes early. Always check in at the front desk
  3. Practice on an empty stomach. Do not eat 2-3 hours prior to yoga practice. Juice or fruit are OK if you need quick energy before class. Drink plenty of water prior to class, but avoid drinking during class.
  4. Dress appropriately. Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothing. Layers help to adjust for temperature changes during and after class.
  5. Purchase a yoga mat. Having your own mat supports your commitment to your practice and ensures its cleanliness. Mats and towels can be rented.
  6. Remove your shoes before entering the studio. Leave your shoes in the studio lobby. This preserves the sacred nature of the studio space. We recommend taking your valuables inside the studio.
  7. Turn off your cell phone. This enhances your experience and is a polite gesture to your fellow students.
  8. Go to level 1 Level 1 or level1-2 classes are appropriate for beginners. Let  teacher know you are new to the practice.
  9. Notify the teacher of injuries or medical conditions. This helps the teacher know how to assist you and give you modifications.
